Hey Jay, Could you do one for AMD please? I just upgraded to an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D on a ASUS X670E-Pro. I transitioned from Intel and now with AMD, the naming scheme for things is bas-ackward! Your video has me scouring the web to make sure my processor isn't doing exactly what you're mentioning in the video, but I can't find terminology that translates to AMD.

I really dig the "formal black" aesthetics even if I too am a sucker for lights and colours (though I have since given up on coloured coolant entirely) The one thing that I would be concerned with, though, is that backplate being too THICC, it can become a problem. That block already looks like it might be a one-and-half slot one but that does look like it could interfere backwards too. I have had problems with this sort of thing myself. My workstation has an ASUS Zenith mobo (1st gen threadripper) and the top PCIe slot is really close to the RAM slots. I used to have an Intel A770 there (well, it's dead now, killed by a power surge, but still there because I can't be bothered to drain a loop and remove 2 dead GPUs from it) and I got it a Bykski waterblock that actually has BOTH of these problems. It's not quite a one-slot block for seemingly no good reason (the top protrudes ever so slightly beyond tolerance) and if I put the (also pretty nice) backplate on, it won't fit because of conflict with my RAM I was already pissed with EK even before all this stuff (expensive A.F and my Radeon 7's block, the other dead card in this rig, has had some issues with corrosion even through the non-optional nickel plating) but having the block make the card an actual single slot is something that apparently cannot be taken for granted these days. This whole slot thing actually dictated where I had to put each card so the slots were really chosen for me instead

I don't really have much knowledge with bios and mine is the Gigabyte Z790 UD AX with Intel 14th gen. My games keep crashing and getting the no memory error too and I can't follow along with this video as the layout and settings are named different. Can you make a video showing what settings I need to tweak for gigabyte?

I just can't use the web without an Ad Blocker anymore. Most websites nowadays, require half a dozen clicks just for you to read a basic paragraph: click the cookie consent, click the popup close button, click the offer close button, click the ad close button in front of the stuff you want to read, scroll down and find the content between the million ads all blinking and begging for your attention, close the "before you go" popup that appears when you move the mouse out of the window... And I also can't do without a cookie auto deleter, because I don't like all damn social network and search engine on the web tracking every site I visit and then showing me vacuum cleaner ads forever just because I once searched about vacuum cleaners for my mom. I would prefer not having to use browser extensions, but some are just essential. Browsers like Vivaldi are my choice, because their built-in ad blockers actually block ads. PC Boosters... I think we should mention CCleaner. Anyone who uses CCleaner, just uninstall it, bury it away from your home, and never mention its name out loud once again. Never even tell your grandchildren about it. It must be forgotten in time, blessed with holy water and locked down under the sea with a skull in the steel box.

Asus has Bois update ver 3501 that corrected to the numbers shown to be used, I updated and now their correct and have changed back to let bois optimize. Running well and a little cooler. Thanks

Slightly unrelated, but isn’t it time for us to forego PCs and just buy laptops? I mean, I’m 57 andI have built my own PCs since 1998, and until recently, we have always gotten good parts commensurate with the price paid. However, with the rise in popularity of PC building, hardware manufacturers have just absolutely killed quality, downgraded user manuals, marketed BS specs based on OC and other MB tricks, expanded offerings to confuse the layman, and all the while increased pricing, the latter of which is counter-intuitive for PC tech. For the price of a GTX4090 GPU I can get an Asus ProArt Studiobook creator laptop. Or for a little more, a legit desktop replacement. As much as I loved the era of PC building, and believe me I wish it would continue, the time has passed. HW companies are fucking with us too much. The oligarchy of AMD vs Intel is not helpful to consumers. 35 SKUs between AM5 and LGA1700? GFY. Point is, simplify, and downgrade. Be happy. The internet was much better when it was a room in your house with dial up, not ubiquitous to the point that you can’t socialize. Sorry for pontificating, but I had an epiphany tonight. Fuck the HW companies. Get a good laptop and live your fucking life.

I’m happy to have purchased a EVGA 3090 Ti FTW3 end of 2023 for $700 (less then a year old, seller lost their shirt) and have been Team EVGA for at least 15 years but they made the mistake of getting greedy during the COVID times. It doesn’t cost $2000 to produce a 3090 Ti, try 20% tops. As much as I love EVGA they got greedy and cashed out. Last year they were selling B-stock 1080 Ti’s for $600+. No way is that card worth it in 2023. That’s just pure greed hands down.

I wish there was away to duplicate the problem i had with an lilian li aio. Mine temps would hit 100 c and i would shut it down, bad pump. here is the problem. bought the NXZT elite 360 and put it in< no problem until i hit power button. Nothing powered up, checked all the connections all good. Took it up tp microcenter and the guys got the pc up and running. I ask for a upgrade on the board and processor and the crap hit the fan.(if i could have a emouji of crap hitting the fan it would be here) I bought a 1000 watt power supply for the Z790 board and a 13700k processor. they put it in and the smoke came out of the 3060 ti. now my 9 lian li fan run at slow pace and nothing helps to make them go any faster. they are going to hold on to the pc to see if they can figure out what happen, Those huys are great and the store manager has gone above and beyond to be helpful. The tech has as well. great guys. wish you could look at the system and see if the puzzel can be figured out. lol

Upgrade question: My computer main components are MSI MPG X670E Carbon WiFi motherboard, MSI 3060 X12g GPU (Nvidia), 64 GB Kingston Beast DDR5 4800 memory, 850 watt power supply, Ryzen 7 7700 CPU (65w version). This is NOT used for gaming, but used for photo editing, specifically astro photos where 'stacking' is heavily used and the main programs are 'Pixinsight' and 'Affinity Photo' (both CPU intensive). I'm trying to figure out if I would gain anything significant by upgrading to the Ryzen 9 7900 CPU (65w version) and keeping all the other components the same. I have PBO enabled but no other tweaks. Can't find any good answers on the web so I'm asking the 'experts' here. Thanks!

And yet people keep buying intel CPUs despite their issues, I understand switching from intel to AMD feels like a big risk but I used to be like that, I've had many intel CPUs until I gave up intel greedy way of forcing me to either buy a new CPU and change the motherboard or buying an old CPU at a higher price. I've had i5 2400U, 6500, 9600K, i7 6700k, and i9 9900K all of them had many issues like crashing when XMP is enabled or disabled tried to figure out the issue, changed the RAMs 3 times with different brands. I've switched then to Ryzen 7 5800x and upgraded it to Ryzen 9 5950x, I've never had issues with them. I hate intel but I would be hesitant to buy from them again because of their CPU issues.
